Every year, our alpacas need to be sheared. In May, the temperature rises and the animals start being too hot in their 15 centimeters thick coat. The wool we obtain can be used for many purposes, for example blankets for our guests, cuddly toys or socks. A win-win situation, for both humans and animals. Simultaneously, the animals’ hooves are being trimmed and their teeth checked. Also, without their heavy winter coat, it’s easier to see whether the females that have been bred during the winter are indeed pregnant.
